Each year approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health condition and at least 1 in 6 employees experience common mental health problems in the workplace.
Research has shown that work is the biggest cause of stress which can stop people performing at their best.
Mental health conditions are often hidden due to stigma and fear of discrimination and research has shown that a culture of fear and silence around mental health is costly to employers. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance 'First aid needs assessment’ refers to mental health in the workplace.
Learners undertaking this course will be considered First Aiders for Mental Health and be a point of contact within the workplace to help and support those with a suspected mental health condition.

The learner has a maximum of 60 minutes to complete the assessment. This recording will be kept following the FAA Data Protection Policy and will not be
shared with any person except for quality assurance purposes by FAA, the FAA centre providing the training, and the regulatory bodies as required.
There is no grading of the assessment; learners pass or are referred.
Entry requirements
The qualification is available to learners aged 18 or over.
It may be possible to allocate a reasonable adjustment to a learner who has a disability, medical condition or learning need; learners should contact Cloverleaf Training to discuss. Any reasonable adjustments granted must be in line with the FAA Reasonable Adjustments Policy.
However, due to this being a distance learning qualification and the level of unsupervised learning required, a learner must have the literacy
skills to be able to read and self-learn the reference manual and additional resources.
Numbers
A maximum of 6 students can be accommodated on this course.

The qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training.
